October, 2009 - Getting ready for ACC!

We are very excited that the ACC Championship will be held in Tampa again this year!  We are gearing up this month to prepare for assisting the Proud Sponsor, Dr Pepper, with there transportation and events for the second year in a row.  With the help of our two fall interns, Elle Talent, Florida State University and Jenna Lee Rowe, University of Florida, we are confident this year's program will be a huge success!!!!

Eventions of Florida is proud to announce that Irene Caban has become a managing partner as of October 17th and has also taken on the role as Director of Sales & Events.  Irene is now be responsible for overseeing the sales and event operations team.  Irene has been an asset to the team @ Eventions of Florida since her joining the team 13 months ago and we were very happy that she accepted the partnership and new position.

Also, we have a new addition to our team. Kristl Kamm, joined us in August as Sales and Event Coordinator.  Kristl graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology. During her four years at the University of Florida, Kristl was active in various student organizations. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority, where she held multiple positions, most prominently in public relations, and was frequently involved in charitable events and activities. Kristl enjoyed helping to fundraise for organizations such as the Children’s Miracle Network and The Make-A-Wish foundation. Through her involvement in these charities, she developed a love for hospitality. Being a native of the Tampa Bay area, Kristl was eager to return and the possibility of working with Eventions of Florida was extremely exciting. Kristl had worked on staff with Eventions since the beginning of this year and thoroughly enjoyed the creative and interactive aspects of this business. She also looks forward to becoming involved with Meeting Professionals International and other various organizations.

June, 2008 - MBE Certification

Eventions of Florida became Certified in the Statewide and Inter-Local Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) program June 18, 2008.  State certification is Florida’s premier stamp of approval for minority and women business entrepreneurs. 

March, 2008 - NEW DIGS

We have moved!!!! Eventions of Florida, celebrating its 3rd year has grown from a staff of one to a full staff of four sales and event managers/coordinators in addition to the numerous field and event staff.  In the beginning of March, Eventions of Florida moved there office location from Gandy Blvd to a larger office located on Henderson Blvd to accomodate the company growth.  The new office is located in South Tampa, approximately 10 minutes from the airport & downtown and 30 minutes from Clearwater and St. Pete Beach.  Feel free to stop in if you are in the area, we would love to show off our NEW DIGS!!!!!!!!

January, 2008 - PCMA INVOLVEMENT

Eventions of Florida Owner and Director of Sales, Ali Brown, has been elected to serve as President of the Southeast Chapter of the Professional Convention Managers Association (PCMA). Ali began her involvement with PCMA as a student member 10 years ago while attending theUniversity of New Orleans. After relocating to Tampa in late 2003, Ali became an active member of the Southeast Chapter and served as Programs Chair for the last two years before being elected as president for the 2008 term.
